The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially released the notification for the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) Phase 4.0, opening the door for approximately 32,388 teaching positions across various subjects and districts in the state. Online applications will begin accepting candidates from September 1, 2026, marking one of the largest state-level teaching recruitment drives in Bihar's recent history.

The TRE 4.0 recruitment covers a wide range of teaching posts, including positions for post-primary teachers, primary teachers, and higher secondary educators across the state's government and aided schools. Candidates are required to apply exclusively through the official BPSC portal at bpsc.biharonline.in. The commission has emphasized that applicants must ensure all details are accurate before submission, as corrections may not be permitted after the deadline.

This recruitment drive follows the success and lessons learned from previous TRE phases, which together have filled tens of thousands of teaching vacancies in Bihar's education system. In a parallel development, the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has also issued a notification for 170 teaching positions under its Community Television Scheme (CTS) recruitment. These posts will be filled through an interview-based process rather than a written examination, with applications beginning on September 7, 2026. While smaller in scale compared to Bihar's massive drive, the TNPSC notification adds to a busy recruitment season for aspiring teachers across southern India.

Educational analysts note that both announcements reflect growing state-level investment in teaching personnel, even as recruitment methods vary — Bihar continues to rely on competitive examinations while Tamil Nadu opts for direct interviews for certain teaching roles.
