The Bihar Technical Services Commission (BTSC) has formally issued its recruitment notification for the year 2025, announcing a significant hiring drive of 2,747 Junior Engineer (JE) positions across the state. This marks one of the largest engineering-level recruitments conducted by the commission in recent years and is expected to draw thousands of applicants from across Bihar and neighbouring states.
The notification outlines vacancies spread across several engineering specialisations, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and electronics and communication branches. The positions fall under the state government's technical services cadre, offering candidates a stable career in public-sector engineering roles such as project execution, infrastructure monitoring, and public works supervision.
As per the eligibility criteria, candidates must hold a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognised university or institution. The upper age limit for general category applicants stands at 37 years, with relaxations prescribed for candidates belonging to reserved categories in accordance with Bihar state government norms. The commission has also specified that candidates must meet the prescribed educational qualifications by the stipulated cut-off date mentioned in the notification.
The application process is entirely online, with candidates required to register on the official BTSC portal and upload supporting documents including photographs, signatures, educational certificates, and caste certificates where applicable. Application fees have been prescribed, with fee waivers or concessions extended to eligible reserved-category candidates and persons with disabilities. The window for online submissions will remain open for a limited period starting from the notification release date, after which no late applications will be entertained.
Selection for these posts will be based on a written examination conducted by the BTSC, followed by document verification. The commission is expected to issue a separate exam call letter and admit card closer to the examination date.
