Together, these two recruitment cycles represent one of the largest hiring exercises undertaken by the Bihar police in recent years.
Under the ASI recruitment cycle, candidates who have passed the 12th standard or its equivalent from a recognized board are eligible to apply. Candidates applying for this post must hold at least a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. The number of vacancies declared under this cycle was described as substantial, drawing lakhs of applicants from across Bihar and neighbouring states.
Both recruitment drives come at a time when the Bihar government has been actively working to fill long-pending vacancies in the police department. The state police force has operated below sanctioned strength for several years, and these recruitments are seen as a critical step toward strengthening grassroots law enforcement. Successful candidates under both cycles will be posted across various districts in Bihar, with postings determined by merit ranking and vacancy distribution.
