The Bihar government has officially announced a major recruitment drive through the Bihar State Lok Sewa Aayog (Public Service Commission) for 6,875 vacant positions across multiple departments and administrative wings. The notification, recently published in the official gazette, marks one of the largest state-level hiring exercises in recent years, offering employment opportunities to thousands of jobseekers across Bihar.

The recruitment covers a wide spectrum of roles spanning clerical staff, junior engineers, inspectors, assistants, data entry operators, and various supervisory positions within different government departments. Candidates who qualify for these posts can expect a monthly salary ranging from the standard government pay bands, with the top end reaching approximately ₹59,000 per month depending on the level and grade of the position.

Eligibility criteria for the recruitment vary by post. Generally, candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age, though relaxations in the upper age limit apply for reserved categories as per government norms. A bachelor's degree from a recognized university is the minimum educational qualification for most posts, while certain technical positions may require a diploma or specialized engineering degree.

The selection process will follow the standard Bihar PSC protocol — a preliminary examination, followed by a main written test, and in some cases, a skill test or interview depending on the nature of the post. The commission has stated that the answer keys and result declarations will be published on the official portal well in advance of each phase.

Applications are being accepted online through the Bihar Lok Sewa Aayog website. Candidates are advised to complete their registration before the deadline, ensuring that all supporting documents including caste certificates, educational qualifications, and photographs are uploaded in the prescribed format. A reasonable processing fee applies, with fee exemptions granted for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Officials have emphasized that this recruitment drive aims to address long-pending vacancies that have accumulated over the past several years due to administrative delays and structural bottlenecks. Filling these positions is expected to improve the functioning of key state departments responsible for public service delivery, revenue collection, and local governance.
