The Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGENCO) has announced a major recruitment drive for the year 2026, opening applications for 100 positions of Assistant Executive Engineer across various engineering disciplines. The notification was issued through the official APGENCO website and also shared on the state government's dedicated employment portal.

The recruitment is aimed at strengthening the technical workforce within the corporation's thermal and power generation units spread across the state. Assistant Executive Engineers will be posted at different power stations and operational facilities where they will be responsible for overseeing maintenance schedules, supervising junior technical staff, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and managing day-to-day engineering operations.

Eligibility criteria require candidates to hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in relevant branches such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Production Engineering from a university recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or the University Grants Commission (UGC). Candidates appearing for their final year examinations are also eligible to apply provisionally, subject to producing proof of qualification before the interview stage.

The age limit for general category candidates is set at 32 years as on the reference date specified in the notification. Relaxations in the upper age limit apply to candidates belonging to reserved categories including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes, in line with Andhra Pradesh state government norms. Physically disabled candidates will also receive the applicable age relaxation as per existing rules.

Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Matrix Level 7 and Level 8, with a starting basic pay of ₹44,900 that can scale up to ₹1,42,400 depending on progression. The consolidated monthly salary after allowances will fall between ₹75,000 and ₹86,245, making it an attractive position for engineering graduates seeking a career in the public sector power industry.

The selection process will consist of two stages. First, candidates will appear for a Computer Based Test covering subjects related to their engineering discipline along with general aptitude and awareness of current affairs. Those who clear the written test will then be called for a personal interview. Final merit will be determined by combining marks from both stages.

Candidates interested in applying must visit the official APGENCO recruitment portal and fill out the online application form. The application window opens immediately and will remain open until July 20, 2026. Late applications will not be entertained. A detailed information brochure containing the complete syllabus, exam pattern, and frequently asked questions has been uploaded alongside the notification.
