The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has kicked off the online registration process for the Nurses Registration Cum Eligibility Test (NORCET) 10, inviting applications for 2,551 posts of Nursing Officers across its network of medical institutions throughout the country. This recruitment drive represents one of the most significant hiring initiatives for healthcare professionals in recent times.
Candidates can apply through the official NORCET portal at norcet.nic.in. The online application window opened recently and is expected to remain active for several weeks, giving aspiring nurses ample time to complete their submissions. Applicants are advised to register early and avoid waiting until the final days, as technical glitches often surge closer to deadlines.
To be eligible for these positions, candidates must hold a recognized qualification in nursing — typically a B.Sc. in Nursing or an M.Sc. in Nursing from a university or institution approved by the Indian Nursing Council. Additionally, candidates must possess a valid registration with the State Nursing Council or the Indian Nursing Council. There may also be age relaxation provisions for reserved categories as per government norms.
NORCET serves as the common eligibility test for recruitment to the post of Staff Nurse and Public Health Nurse across all AIIMS institutes, as well as other affiliated medical institutions under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The exam is conducted in two stages — a computer-based written examination followed by an interview or skill assessment, depending on the institute's criteria.
Successful candidates will be placed in various AIIMS campuses nationwide, including the flagship AIIMS New Delhi and multiple newer AIIMS established in different states under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
