The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bibinagar in Telangana, has officially announced a recruitment drive for 13 Senior Resident vacancies falling under the non-academic category. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official AIIMS website until February 23, 2026.
Senior Resident roles at AIIMS institutions serve as a critical bridge between postgraduate specialization and independent clinical practice. These positions allow medical professionals to further refine their surgical or medical expertise under supervised yet autonomous conditions. While academic senior residents are typically engaged in teaching and research alongside patient care, non-academic senior residents focus primarily on clinical duties, contributing to patient management, emergency services, and procedural work without formal teaching obligations.
The salary structure for these posts ranges between ₹56,100 and ₹67,700 per month, which is competitive for early-career specialists and aligns with the pay commissions applicable to AIIMS non-academic staff. Candidates will also be entitled to standard government healthcare benefits and other allowances as prescribed under AIIMS service rules.
Eligibility requires candidates to hold an MD or MS degree in the relevant specialty from a medical college recognized by the National Medical Commission, along with permanent or provisional registration with the State Medical Council. A maximum age relaxation of up to five years applies for candidates belonging to reserved categories, consistent with central government norms.
The selection process will be based on a merit list prepared through a written examination or performance-based assessment conducted by AIIMS Bibinagar, followed by document verification. Candidates are advised to check the official advertisement carefully for specialty-wise distribution of the 13 posts and to ensure all documents, including degree certificates, registration proofs, and category certificates where applicable, are ready before applying.
AIIMS Bibinagar, established as part of the national initiative to expand world-class medical education beyond Delhi, continues to grow its specialist workforce. This recruitment underscores the institute's expanding clinical responsibilities and its commitment to training the next generation of medical professionals.
