The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has kicked off the application process for 597 vacancies of Drug Assistant (Grade 2) under the Directorate of Drugs Control, Delhi Government. The selection will be conducted through a written examination followed by document verification, as per the board's standard recruitment procedure for Group C posts.
The notification was released several weeks ago, and the online application window has been open for candidates across the country. However, those who have not yet submitted their applications are urged to act immediately, as the last date to apply is tomorrow. Any applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution to be eligible for these posts. The age limit for general category candidates typically stands at 30 years, with relaxations applicable for reserved categories as per Delhi government norms.
The selected candidates will be deployed in the Delhi Drugs Control Department, where they will be responsible for inspecting drug stores, ensuring compliance with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, and monitoring the quality and safety standards of medicines sold across the capital. These are Group C statutory posts that carry a regular salary structure as defined by the 6th Central Pay Commission recommendations.
Applicants are required to fill out the form on the DSSSB official website and upload the necessary documents, including educational certificates, caste certificates where applicable, and recent photographs. A non-refundable application fee must also be paid online. Candidates belonging to reserved categories are exempt from the application fee.
The written examination will test candidates on subjects related to pharmacy practice, drug laws, pharmacology, and general awareness. Results will be declared based on merit, and shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.
