A woman motorcyclist has been admitted to a hospital in Gurugram after being involved in a hit-and-run incident that police say appeared to be deliberate. According to the complainant, she was riding her Aprilia RS 457 motorcycle along a road in the city when a car began tailing her at high speed. Minutes later, the vehicle rammed into her from behind, sending both rider and bike sliding across the pavement before the driver sped off without stopping to render aid.
The entire episode was recorded on the motorcycle's onboard camera, which captured the approach of the vehicle, the impact, and the aftermath. The footage has been submitted to the local police as part of the complaint filed by the injured woman.
On receiving the complaint, the Gurugram police registered a case and immediately launched a suo motu investigation — meaning the probe was initiated on its own authority rather than awaiting a formal petition. Officers have identified individuals believed to be connected to the incident and are working to locate and apprehend them. Multiple teams have been assigned to trace the car using CCTV footage from nearby locations and traffic cameras along the route where the collision occurred.
Motorcycle riders in Haryana have long expressed concerns about road safety, particularly regarding reckless driving and incidents of road rage. This case has reignited those fears, with several rider groups calling for stricter enforcement against dangerous driving and prompt action against perpetrators.
