The West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC) is set to conduct its Group D recruitment examination starting tomorrow, with thousands of candidates appearing across multiple centers throughout the state. The commission has officially released admit cards and published comprehensive guidelines to help candidates prepare for the examination day.
The examination will be held in two shifts across all designated centers. Candidates are advised to carefully check their admit cards for the specific shift allocation, reporting time, and venue details assigned to them. Late entrants will not be permitted inside the examination hall under any circumstances, making it essential for candidates to reach the venue well in advance of their scheduled reporting time.
According to WBSSC directives, every candidate must carry a printed copy of their admit card along with one valid original identity proof such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID, passport, or driving license. The name on the identity document must match exactly with the name on the admit card. Candidates whose identity proof does not bear a photograph will also need to produce two additional identity documents bearing both their signature and photograph.
Several items are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall, including mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth-enabled devices, calculators, and any electronic gadgets. Only plain transparent water bottles are allowed, and these will be subject to verification at the entry point. Candidates carrying bags, extra stationary materials, or any other unauthorized items will be asked to deposit them at designated areas outside the venue.
The Group D examination is being conducted for recruitment to various non-gazetted and ministerial posts across government departments in West Bengal. Successful candidates can expect appointment to positions such as assistant cum clerk, data entry operator, peon, and similar roles. The selection process is based entirely on the written examination score followed by document verification.
Candidates who face technical difficulties while downloading their admit cards are encouraged to contact the WBSSC helpline or visit the official website for resolution. The commission has stated that no changes will be made to center allocations after the admit card issuance date.
