The Uttar Pradesh government has officially released the recruitment notification for 1,717 vacant positions of Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers across the state. The notification was published on the official recruitment portal at upanganwadibharti.in, and candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria can submit their applications online.
Anganwadi centres form one of the largest grassroots-level public health and nutrition delivery networks in India, operating under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme. In Uttar Pradesh alone, thousands of Anganwadi centres function in rural and urban areas to provide nutritional support, pre-school education, and health check-ups to children and expectant mothers.
According to the notification, the 1,717 vacancies include positions for both Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers. These posts are spread across various districts of Uttar Pradesh, with allocation decided based on district-wise requirement. The recruitment is expected to be conducted through a written examination followed by document verification, as per the standard selection process for ICDS posts in the state.
Eligibility criteria generally require candidates to have passed at least the 10th standard from a recognised board for the post of Anganwadi Worker, while the post of Anganwadi Helper typically requires completion of the 8th standard. Candidates belonging to reserved categories may be eligible for relaxations in educational qualifications as per government norms. Age relaxation is also provided to eligible candidates from SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved categories.
The application process is entirely online. Candidates are advised to visit upanganwadibharti.in, register themselves on the portal, fill in personal and academic details, upload the required documents including photographs and signatures, and submit the application fee where applicable before the deadline.
Officials said that the recruitment drive aims to strengthen frontline childcare services in the state and ensure adequate staffing at Anganwadi centres that have been operating with shortages. A detailed admit card and exam schedule will be released at a later date by the concerned authorities.
