The Uttar Pradesh state government has announced an extension of the deadline for online application submission for positions of Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) and Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) across government schools in the state. The decision was made to give more time to aspirants who were struggling to complete their registration before the earlier scheduled cutoff date.
Candidates seeking appointment as TGTs and PGTs in various subjects will now have additional days to submit their applications through the official recruitment portal. Officials stated that the extension was granted after receiving numerous representations from applicants across different districts who cited technical glitches, lack of internet access, and other difficulties in finalizing their forms within the original timeframe.
The recruitment drive covers hundreds of teaching positions across secondary and higher secondary schools throughout Uttar Pradesh, one of India's most populous states with a vast network of government-run educational institutions. Eligible candidates include individuals holding the requisite teaching qualifications and having passed the relevant eligibility tests such as the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) or UPTET, depending on the post and subject combination.
Education department officials emphasized that candidates should use the remaining time wisely and double-check all details before final submission. They cautioned that incomplete or incorrectly filled forms would be rejected, and no further extensions would be granted beyond the newly notified date.
The extended deadline has been widely welcomed by coaching centers, civic groups, and candidate associations across the state, who had been pressing for additional time. Tens of thousands of aspirants are expected to apply through the refreshed window.
