The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has officially notified its recruitment drive for 2024, opening applications for Group B and Group C posts across various departments in the state government. In a separate but parallel notification, the commission has also announced recruitment under the Group 4 category, with over 6,244 vacancies to be filled.
The Group B and Group C recruitment is aimed at filling administrative, clerical, technical, and supervisory positions across multiple state government departments. Applications are being accepted through the TNPSC online portal at tnpsc.gov.in. The commission has stated that interested candidates should register on the website and complete the application process before the deadline.
The Group 4 notification, which carries 6244 vacancies, covers a wide range of junior-level posts including Orderly, Stenographer, Junior Assistant, Clerk, and various other supporting staff positions in the Tamil Nadu state administration. These posts are considered among the most sought-after government employment opportunities in the state due to their relative accessibility in terms of educational qualification — typically requiring a minimum of a higher secondary or equivalent degree depending on the specific post.
Eligibility criteria vary across the different groups. For Group B posts, candidates generally need a bachelor's degree from a recognized university, along with age limits that typically range between 21 and 32 years, with relaxations for reserved categories as per Tamil Nadu government norms. Group C posts may have slightly lower educational requirements in certain cases, while Group 4 posts commonly require passage of the Higher Secondary examination or an equivalent qualification.
The TNPSC has also released the examination schedule for the ongoing recruitment cycles. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website for updates regarding admit card release dates, exam timings, and center allocations.
