After months of speculation and repeated postponements following the contentious SSC CGL 2024 Tier 1 exam controversy, the commission has now published a concrete timeline that candidates had eagerly awaited. The revised schedule divides the selection process into clearly demarcated phases, beginning with Tier 1 and moving progressively through Tier 2 and beyond.
Under the new framework, SSC CGL Tier 1 is tentatively scheduled to take place between August and November 2026, with individual shifts likely spread across multiple dates depending on the massive candidate volume. The exam will be conducted in computer-based mode across thousands of centres nationwide, testing candidates on General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Tier 2 is expected to follow between December 2026 and January 2027, comprising Paper 1 (Quantitative Abilities), Paper 2 (English Language and Comprehension), Paper 3 (Statistics), and Paper 4 (General Studies – Finance and Economics), depending on the post applied for.
