Jaipur: Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari cast her vote in the ongoing Jaipur Municipal Corporation elections on Saturday, urging citizens across the state to come out in large numbers to exercise their democratic right. Speaking to reporters after casting her ballot, she described the act of voting as a celebration of democracy itself.
Addressing the media outside the polling station, Diya Kumari said it was crucial for every eligible citizen to participate in the electoral process. She emphasized that once voting was complete, it would be the responsibility of the elected government and administration to address public grievances and deliver development.
"I think it is crucial to cast your vote; you must go and vote. Once that is done, it is certainly the government's and the administration's job to work for you and resolve your issues. However, today is a very important day for voting across Rajasthan, so through this platform, I would like to appeal to everyone to go out and cast their vote," she said.
Diya Kumari also spoke about India's growing presence on the global stage, noting that the country's democratic institutions had gained significant recognition worldwide. She linked this global rise to the strength of India's electoral traditions and the active participation of its citizens in shaping governance.
The Jaipur Municipal Corporation elections are being held across multiple phases, with voters in different wards heading to polling stations throughout the day.
