The Madhya Pradesh Police Department has released a major recruitment notification for 2025, announcing the hiring of 500 candidates for Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and Subedar positions. The notification, issued by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Recruitment Board (MPPSRB), marks one of the largest policing recruitment drives in the state this year.
According to the official notification, approximately 300 positions are for Assistant Sub-Inspectors while roughly 200 or more seats are reserved for Subedar posts. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria can submit their applications through the official MP Police recruitment portal.
The minimum educational qualification for the ASI post requires a bachelor's degree from a recognized university, while candidates applying for Subedar positions must have passed the 12th standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. The age limit generally falls between 18 and 25 years for general category candidates, with relaxations applicable for reserved categories as per state government norms.
The selection process will be multi-staged. Candidates first need to clear a written examination, followed by a Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement Test. Those who qualify in these stages will then undergo document verification before final selection. All stages must be cleared sequentially for a candidate to be considered for appointment.
Application fees have been structured differently across categories, with general category applicants paying a standard fee while candidates from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Persons with Disabilities categories enjoy a concession. The official notification also provides the last date for submission of applications along with a detailed application form and important instructions.
This massive recruitment initiative is viewed as a critical move to bolster law enforcement capabilities across Madhya Pradesh. For years, the state has faced personnel shortages in its police force, and filling these 500 vacancies is expected to significantly improve operational readiness.
