The Madhya Pradesh government has officially launched the recruitment drive for over 2,000 Anganwadi worker and helper positions under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme. The notification was issued by the Van Vidyalaya Sahayogi Parishad, the state body responsible for managing Anganwadi operations, marking a significant step toward strengthening India's early childhood care and nutrition infrastructure in rural and semi-urban areas.
Online applications are now being accepted through the official portal designated by the Madhya Pradesh government. Candidates across the state are encouraged to apply within the stipulated window, which typically spans several weeks from the date of notification release. The recruitment is expected to cover all districts of Madhya Pradesh, with Anganwadi centres spread across both urban and remote rural blocks.
The notified posts include positions for Anganwadi workers, who serve as the frontline functionaries of the ICDS programme, and Anganwadi helpers who assist in daily operational activities at the centres. Workers are primarily responsible for nutrition supplementation, preschool education, health check-ups, and immunisation support for children under six years of age and pregnant or lactating women.
Eligibility criteria for the recruitment require candidates to have passed at least the tenth standard from a recognised board, along with residency in Madhya Pradesh. Age relaxations will be applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per state government norms.
The selection process is expected to involve a written examination followed by document verification. The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured in the examination, with due consideration given to reservation policies applicable in the state.
This large-scale recruitment comes at a time when the central and state governments have been placing renewed emphasis on improving anganwadi services, especially after widespread concerns were raised about staffing shortages affecting service delivery across multiple states.
