The Indian Army has announced the result of the Agniveer Common Entrance Examination (CEE) 2026, setting in motion the next phase of recruitment for one of the most sought-after entry schemes in the country. Aspirants who appeared for the written examination can now access their scorecards and merit lists by visiting the official portal at joinindianarmy.nic.in.
The Agniveer recruitment under the Agniveer Scheme was introduced by the Ministry of Defence to bring in young personnel between the ages of 17 and 21 years into the armed forces on a four-year tenure. The Common Entrance Examination serves as the first screening stage, after which candidates are called for further phases including the Physical Efficiency Test, medical examination, and interview process. Successful candidates are inducted as Agniveers and serve for a period of four years, after which a small percentage are retained in the permanent force based on performance and vacancies.
According to the official notification, the merit list has been prepared based on the marks obtained in the CEE and is published category-wise and region-wise. Candidates are advised to cross-verify their details such as roll number, name, and date of birth before downloading the document. Any discrepancy must be reported to the concerned recruitment centre within the stipulated timeframe.
The Indian Army has released separate merit lists for different entries including Agniveer Technical, Agniveer General Duty, and Agniveer Clerk/Stenographer, each governed by its own cutoff criteria. The technical entry requires a minimum qualification in PCM subjects at the 10+2 level, while the general duty entry is open to candidates who have passed class 10 with specified subject requirements.
Thousands of young candidates across India had appeared for the CEE 2026 conducted in multiple centres across various states. The examination was held in computer-based mode with negative marking applied for incorrect responses. The army authorities have stated that the final selection will be determined through a combination of the CEE scores and performance in subsequent evaluation stages.
Candidates whose names appear on the merit list will receive call letters for the next rounds via email and SMS. The recruitment process is expected to conclude within the coming months, with induction scheduled to begin shortly thereafter.
