The Haryana School Services Commission (HSSC) has announced a significant recruitment drive for Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) positions, opening 3,827 vacancies across various subjects and districts in the state. The recruitment notification, issued with the aim of strengthening the quality of secondary and senior secondary education in Haryana government schools, has drawn interest from thousands of eligible candidates across the country.
The selected candidates will be placed under Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission matrix, which translates to a monthly salary ranging between ₹44,900 and ₹1,51,100, depending on experience and allowances. Additional benefits include dearness allowance, housing allowance, and other government perks applicable to state education employees.
Candidates must hold a master's degree in the relevant subject with at least 50 percent marks, along with a recognized teaching qualification such as B.Ed or D.El.Ed. The upper age limit has been set at 40 years for general category candidates, with relaxation available for reserved categories as per Haryana government norms.
Applications are being accepted online through the official HSSC portal. The process includes a written examination followed by document verification. A significant number of these posts remain vacant due to previous recruitment delays, retirements, and the expanding needs of the state's school education system. Education experts note that this recruitment drive is essential to address the chronic shortage of qualified PGTs in Haryana's government schools, particularly in science, mathematics, and language subjects.
