Kalyan Bainsla, widely sought by police for allegedly deliberately ramming a woman motorcyclist on a busy Gurugram road, has been taken into custody from Rajasthan following an extended search operation.
The incident that triggered the manhunt occurred when Bainsla, driving a vehicle on a Gurugram thoroughfare, reportedly collided with a woman riding her bike. Witnesses described the collision as intentional, saying Bainsla steered his vehicle directly into the woman's path after a minor traffic dispute. The woman sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Gurugram Police registered a case against Bainsla under sections relating to hurt, dangerous driving, and attempt to murder. A dedicated team was formed to track down the accused, who was believed to have fled the city immediately after the incident.
Intelligence inputs traced Bainsla's movement toward Rajasthan. Police coordination between Haryana and Rajasthan law enforcement agencies led to a coordinated raid, where he was arrested from a location in Rajasthan. He has since been brought back to Gurugram to face further questioning and legal proceedings.
The case has drawn significant public attention, with citizens and women's rights groups expressing outrage over the brutality of the act and calling for strict punishment. Traffic violence against two-wheeler riders, particularly women, has become a growing concern in the National Capital Region, with several similar incidents reported in recent years.
