The Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kerala has issued a pointed reminder to its leadership cadre, asking them to critically examine and reform their behaviour and conversational approaches within the party structure. The call came from CPI(M) Keralam State Secretary M.V. Govindan, who highlighted what he described as a pressing need to change how certain leaders interact with party workers and manage internal affairs.
Speaking at a recent meeting of the CPI(M) Keralam State Committee, Govindan did not mince words when addressing the behavioural shortcomings he observed among some party functionaries. He emphasized that the way leaders communicate and conduct themselves directly affects the party's credibility and its ability to connect with the masses it claims to represent. The secretary noted that a section of leaders has been displaying attitudes and speaking styles that are out of step with the party's democratic and mass-oriented traditions.
Party insiders indicated that the remarks were part of a broader discussion on strengthening organisational functioning at the local level. The state committee meeting also touched upon various ground-level issues affecting party units across different districts of Kerala. Sources close to the proceedings suggested that the leadership is keen on ensuring that district and branch-level committees operate with greater accountability and a more inclusive approach.
