The State Health Society Bihar (SHSB) has decided to extend the last date for submitting online applications for the recruitment of Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) and Anganwadi Helpers, bringing relief to thousands of aspirants who had rushed to complete their forms before the original deadline. The recruitment drive aims to fill 8,853 vacant posts across various districts of Bihar, making it one of the largest healthcare workforce recruitments in the state's recent history.

According to official sources, the extension was granted after receiving numerous representations from candidates citing technical difficulties on the application portal, lack of access to stable internet connectivity, and other logistical challenges. The revised deadline will give applicants additional time to rectify errors, upload required documents, and submit their forms without the pressure of the initial timeline.

Candidates aspiring for these positions are required to apply exclusively through the official website at statehealthsocietybihar.org. The recruitment notification had previously outlined that applicants must possess a Nursing Professional Diploma or equivalent qualification as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council for ANM positions. For Anganwadi Helper posts, candidates needed to meet specific educational and age criteria laid out in the official advertisement.

The Bihar government has been actively working to strengthen its public health infrastructure, particularly in rural areas where healthcare delivery relies heavily on ANMs and Anganwadi workers. These frontline health workers play a critical role in maternal and child health programs, immunization drives, and community health awareness across the state's extensive network of primary health centres and sub-centres.

Selection for the recruited positions will be based on a combination of merit and aptitude testing, with candidates shortlisted according to their performance in the written examination and subsequent document verification rounds. The final list of successful applicants is expected to be published on the SHSB website once all selection processes are completed.
