Apple has announced a major refresh of its MacBook Pro, iPad mini and iMac lineup, introducing new processors, upgraded displays and improved AI capabilities. The October 2026 announcements include Apple's first touchscreen MacBook Pro, a redesigned iPad mini with an OLED display and a new M6-powered iMac.

The new products are available for pre-order, with general availability scheduled to begin on November 6, 2026. The updates represent one of Apple's biggest product refreshes of the year.

MacBook Pro Gets Its First Touchscreen OLED Display

The biggest announcement is the new MacBook Pro featuring Apple's PROLED XDR display, which brings tandem OLED technology and touchscreen support to Mac computers for the first time.

Available in 14-inch and 16-inch models, the new display offers up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Apple has also introduced a thinner and lighter design, a redesigned hinge for touchscreen use and Dynamic Island functionality on the Mac.

The touchscreen allows users to interact directly with applications, including creative and productivity tools. The new models are powered by Apple's M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, with configurations offering up to 128GB of unified memory and 16TB of storage.

The 14-inch model starts at $2,899 in the US, while the 16-inch version starts at $3,399. Higher-end M5 Max configurations are also available at additional prices.

New 14-Inch MacBook Pro Introduces the M6 Chip

Alongside the touchscreen models, Apple has updated its standard 14-inch MacBook Pro with the new M6 processor.

The M6 chip features a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU. Apple says it delivers up to 30% faster graphics performance and up to 25% faster AI workloads compared with the previous M5 generation.

The updated laptop also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 through Apple's N1 wireless chip. It can connect to two external 4K displays at refresh rates of up to 165Hz.

The new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 starts at $1,999 in the US and is designed for students, business users, developers and creative professionals who need strong performance for everyday and demanding workloads.

iPad mini Receives an 8.5-Inch OLED Display

Apple has also introduced a redesigned iPad mini, calling it the biggest update in the product's history.

The new model features a larger 8.5-inch OLED display with improved brightness, contrast and colour reproduction. It is powered by the A20 Pro chip, which brings improvements to graphics processing and AI-related tasks.

The device is just 5.4mm thick and includes an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. Other additions include a 12-megapixel landscape-oriented Center Stage front camera, an Acoustic Display audio system and support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.

The new iPad mini runs iPadOS 27 and supports Apple's latest Apple Intelligence features and Siri AI.

In India, the iPad mini starts at ₹82,900 for the Wi-Fi model and ₹1,00,900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular version. It is available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage options.

iMac Gets an M6 Processor and Faster Connectivity

The 24-inch iMac has also received an internal hardware upgrade with Apple's M6 chip.

The updated desktop computer offers improved processing and graphics performance, along with enhanced capabilities for AI-powered tasks. Apple has also introduced its N1 wireless chip, bringing Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support.

The new iMac retains the existing slim all-in-one design and comes in seven colours: blue, green, pink, yellow, purple, orange and silver. Apple has also improved SSD speeds and maintained its focus on integrating hardware with macOS 27 and Apple Intelligence.

In the US, the M6 iMac starts at $1,499 for the 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU configuration. A higher configuration with a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU starts at $1,699.

When Will the New Apple Products Be Available?

Apple opened pre-orders for the updated devices on October 28, 2026. The new MacBook Pro models, iMac and iPad mini are scheduled to reach customers and retail stores from November 6.

With these announcements, Apple is expanding its hardware lineup with faster processors, OLED technology, improved connectivity and deeper AI integration. The touchscreen MacBook Pro is particularly significant, marking a new direction for the company's traditional laptop design.
